Akshay Kumar: Naughty at 40

Move over, David Beckham. If a man’s torso is to be bared while endorsing a branded apparel, we would rather have Akshay Kumar’s leaping out of the morning newspaper pages and from hoardings across the city.

And the Khiladi is doing just that these days, cashing in on his new lean and mean look, at 40-plus he’s all that and getting sexier with age. “I feel good whenever I hear this type of a comment. If there is a secret to the way I look, it’s that I don’t do alcohol and drugs. I work very hard to keep it that way.

I love the way I look. I’m not trying to be somebody else. Good, bad or ugly – I am the way I am,” he says. The tough guy image notwithstanding, Akshay admits that women are upstaging men on so many fronts, “I believe that women are stronger than men at all times,” he says. Is Twinkle stronger on the home front, then? “Quote me on that any day! She is definitely the stronger person between the two of us. In fact, marriage, by far, has been the most difficult stunt that I’ve performed in my life,” he laughs.
