Deepika Padukone takes time off… Finally

After the attack of malaria in London Deepika Padukone has had no time to slow down let alone take a break.
In fact she was determined to continue working through her delicate post-illness phase specially since she flew down to Delhi for the release of Love Aaj Kal and therefore lost more precious shooting days.
But then Deepika hadn’t really bargained for a unit as large-hearted as Sajid Nadiadwala’s. In spite of the lost dates the producer, director and the leading man Akshay Kumar got together to give Deepika some time off this week.
Says a source, “Since the cast involves many other permutations and combinations between Akshay and the rest of the cast they decided to let Deepika rest it out for a week and do scenes with the rest of the cast.”
Deepika promptly called her family over to relax and feel at home in the city where she’s constantly shooting. First Love Aaj Kal now Housefull “My Dad, Mum and sister were here for a few days.
I got to spend some much-needed time with them. I hardly get to visit them in India. They visit me in Mumbai more than I visit them in Bangalore. And they visit me when I’m abroad.
They came to Bangkok during Chandni Chowk To China. Now they were here in London. I don’t want them to come to boring places. They should’ve fun when they visit me.”
Deepika Padukone ignores Kareena

Relations between Kareena Kapoor’s and Ranbir Kapoor’s families have always been polite but distant. And both young superstars from the Kapoor family have been candid enough to admit that they hardly meet, let alone fraternise.
Deepika Padukone, who just did a film with Kareena’s boyfriend Saif Ali Khan, happens to be Kareena’s estranged cousin Ranbir’s girlfriend. And Ranbir’s father, the wonderfully-talented Rishi Kapoor, was Deepika’s co-star in Love Aaj Kal. Sounds complicated na?
Luckily no one from either side carried the family baggage on the sets. But when last week Deepika came face to face with both Rishi Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor at an event in Delhi, she made her intentions quite clear by staying away from Kareena and spending all her time with Rishi Kapoor.
Belying all rumours of tension with Ranbir’s parents, Deepika Padukone bonded beautifully with Rishi Kapoor in Delhi when she flew to the capital for a day last week from London to attend an event.
“We were all in Delhi together, all of us…Saif, Kareena, Imtiaz, Giselle Monteiro, Rishiji and me. And we had so much fun. I don’t know where these stories of friction come from,” sighs Deeepika.
Deepika is candid enough to admit she doesn’t get along like a house on fire with Ranbir’s parents. “We don’t meet that often. But when we do, the vibes are just fine. It’s sad I didn’t have too many scenes with Rishiji during the shooting of Love Aaj Kal.”
