Yes now just wait for some days to scare with another flick of RGV camp. Ram Gopal Varma loves to shake the audience out of stupor, be it through underworld thrillers or ghost stories. After ‘Sarkar Raj’ and ‘Contract’, the latest offering from the Ramu camp is ‘Phoonk’ that revolves around supernatural theme. ‘Phoonk’, produced by Azam Khan and Praveen Nischol, deals with original and high interest topic of black magic and fear, which Varma has explored in his signature style.
This time again, new star cast will be seen in the film. Sudeep, Amruta Khanivilkar, Shrey Bawa, Kenny Desai and Lillete Dubey are in prominent roles in the film.
Talking about his film, Varma said, “The film explores the psychological state of a man who does not believe in black magic and it is not so much about the black magic as about that psychological state.”
Varma further added, “I have put an ordinary family in extraordinary situation, the audiences should identify themselves with “this family“. This family can be their family (Audience`s family), their neighbours family. I wanted the family to be as natural as possible. There are no commercial items in this film, it is about black magic it is about fear.”
The film “Phoonk“ is all set to release on August 22. Ramu camp is hopeful about this scary flick. Ramu’s ghost tales in ‘Darna Mana Hai’ and ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’, failed to frighten the viewers but let’s see what his ‘Phoonk’ can do. All the best, Ramu!

Abhishek Kapoor’s film, Rock On, looks promising. The film has been produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, and marks the acting debut of the former as well.

The cast also includes Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Luke Kenny and television actress Prachi Desai.Rock On revolves around an unsuccessful rock band. Ten years later, the four members of the band bump into each other again, and set on a journey together.Rock On sees Prachi in a very different look, nothing like the bahu image we’re used to.The music has been scored by Shankar Ehsaan Loy.
The film is important for its director, Abhishek Kapoor, who made his debut with the Sohail Khan-starrer, Aryan. Rock On is scheduled for an August release. Let’s hope it meets a better fate.
