Renuka Vyavahare got chatty with Minissha to find out the secret behind her makeover!
You were always pretty but in Kidnap you look sexy!
I have been getting positive responses from so many people. In fact even the crew of Kidnap initially thought that I was someone else! The secret is definitely the character! I am playing this sassy, chic today’s girl in the film and that needed me to look like that! I have worked hard to loose the excess weight I had and I am extremely happy with the result!
You have looked and danced like JLO in the film!
I have survived on low carb bland food for six months to look like that! As far as the song ‘Hey Ya’ is concerned I am sure people are going to be surprised. I love to dance and what I have done in this song is something I have never attempted before!
Do you fall in love with Imraan in Kidnap?
Kidnap is not your typical Bollywood pot-boiler. Also there is this conflict between my character and Imraan’s all the time since he has kidnapped me to settle past scores with my dad! He is fighting a battle with me and my dad simultaneously…
You have worn bikini for the first time onscreen! Were you apprehensive?
Not at all! I had seen Sanjay’s work in Dhoom and Dhoom 2 and knew he’d never shoot the scene aesthetically. He has never done anything in bad taste besides my designer Shilpa Bhatia has styled me really well in the film.
Imraan thinks you prepare a lot before every scene!
Imraan is very natural whereas I want every shot to be perfect. I do get into lot of details and do my homework. Imraan is very authentic when it comes to his work.
Sanjay Dutt’s non-availability delayed the film a lot.
Baba was going through trying times and we were just praying for him. Not just for the film to proceed but for his life! We were extremely supportive of him.
Bachna Ae Haseeno is a hit. Would you switch into Deepika’s or Bipasha’s character if the film is remade?
No. I would want to my role again! Also Bachna has given me the accessibility amongst the masses. It has made me a familiar name.
