SEE THE CHANGE: Neha Dhupia

Neha Dhupia has been a successful model and people expected her to do glam-doll roles in Bollywood. And the actress did just that for a few years. But then an experimental movie like Ek Chaalis ki last Local happened and things began to change for the better for Neha. She soon found herself doing films like Mithya and Via Darjeeling.

From doing item number to working in films without any songs, Neha has come a long way. When we asked her about this shift she said, “A lot of people were surprised to see me in such films. In our industry people generally bind you in an image and then expect you to do the same kind of roles. When I was offered interesting scripts I grabbed the opportunity.

Initially even I had my doubts about taking up films that were not run-of-the-mill types, but once I started reading the scripts I decided to do them. I guess, not just the audience even I am surprised to see myself in such films,” she says. As long as the surprise is a pleasant one, we are sure people won’t mind it.
