Shilpa-Shamita to turn producer

he Shetty sisters will be launching their own production house by this year-end, reports Prithwish Ganguly
Shilpa Shetty and Shamita Shetty have decided to follow the footsteps of Juhi Chawla and Sushmita Sen to launch their own production house by this year-end.
This is the reason, Shamita says, why she has completely vanished from the silver screen and has not signed any big project for some time now.
“Yes, we are coming out with our own production house probably by next year. It’s still in the planning stage. This is also a reason why you are not seeing much of me on screen. Right now I am concentrating more on my production project,” she says.
We then decided to quiz Shamita a little more on when we would see her again doing a full-fledged role. Shamita of late has been has been seen in a few multi-starrers and solo projects have somehow eluded her altogether.
“I wish I could sit here and predict my future and tell you when I am coming back on the screen. But to tell you the truth, I don’t have any project in my hand right now. I am waiting for a nice and exciting script. I still hope that my audience will see more of me in the near future,” she adds.
Shamita is currently enjoying doing latka jhatkas for a film ‘Hari Puttar — A Comedy of Terrors’ that has Zain Khan (who was formerly seen in Chain Kulli Ki Main Kulli) in the lead.
“The experience (of doing the item number) was really good. I enjoyed myself a lot. I love dancing and the best part of doing this number is that the song is picturised very freely and doesn’t have lot of hard-core choreography in it,” she says.
And with Shamita served on a platter, how could we not ask her about her sister Shilpa’s romance and marriage plans? We dared to probe and surprisingly Shamita was very forthcoming too.
“I think Shilpa deserves every bit of success that she has gained recently and I am very happy for her. No, she is not getting married in the near future. Hey, we will definitely let everyone know when she plans to get married,” she says.
