Shruti Haasan LUCK

Shruti Haasan, Sarika and Kamal Haasan’s daughter, is all set to start her movie career with Luck, but right now this rocker chick has music on her mind
She is a doppelganger of her illustrious parents – Sarika and Kamal Haasan – but Shruti Haasan has a mind of her own. The girl who started as a rock musician is now dabbling in films but, as she says, with total commitment to everything.
However, right now, her focus is completely on performing at a rock café in Mumbai. “I have a show coming up later this month in Mumbai. I will be performing original music composed by my band and myself. It will be a more than one-and-a-half hour long show and I am pretty excited about performing in Mumbai,” she says.
And where all has she done her gig before this? “Once in Mumbai, Cochin, Bangalore and Chennai. I have been playing for a while now, and would love to come to Delhi for this too,” Shruti adds.
Will she continue making music now that films are happening to her? “Definitely. In fact, I am working on my music album at present. I am doing it at my own pace as I don’t rush for anything. I have not yet finalised when I would be releasing my album. For me, making music is like planning when will your child speak his/her first words. You realise that you can’t push it and neither can you predict when it will happen,” Shruti says.
Shruti is all set to act with Imraan Khan, Aamir’s nephew, in Luck. The buzz suggests that Aamir chose her himself. Shruti, however, plays it down. “Luck is still in the planning stage and I don’t even know when the shooting will start. I am also listening to other interesting scripts,” she says.
But make no mistake, it is not as if she isn’t focusing on her film career. “When I revealed at home that I wanted to do films, my dad told me, ‘Do what you wish to do. Tomorrow if you decide to paint a wall, give it your best shot too. Basically, whatever you do, just do it well. And be certain of it.’”
Shruti is eloquent on the subject of her parents. She says, “My dad is a very confident, dedicated and disciplined person. He has always given me the freedom to live my own life, but he has also made me take responsibility for my actions. He says life is not always fun and games.”
What about mom Sarika? “My mother is a passionate person and impulsive as an actress. I’m very happy to see her working again because she is comfortable in that sphere and I am happy to see her happy,” Shruti says. And do we see her acting with her parents? “If it happens, good; but I am not going to force my parents to work with me.”
